Leon, Nicaragua - Planning in Full Swing.

More than a billion people in the world live on less than a dollar day. More than a 663 million people lack access to safe drinking water. These statistics describe communities trapped in a cycle of poverty and despair because they constantly suffer from diseases and parasites carried by the unclean water they drink, or by traveling long distances to have access to any water at all.

In response to this need, Living Water International began being the hands and feet of Jesus by implementing community based, participatory water solutions in these developing countries. Since 1990, they have completed more than 15,000 water projects, and that number keeps growing!

February 14-20, 2016, the Presbyterian Church of Barrington will be sending a team of 7 missionaries to work with the people of Leon, Nicaragua to drill a well and teach them about hygiene. This will provide the hope of greater opportunities in education, work and quality of life. Our team is working as the hands and feet of Jesus, extending the gift of prosperity and ample resources we enjoy every day to those who have very little in material wealth.

We hope also to learn from them, for as they lack in wealth they more than make up for in passion and faith. The stories we hope to bring back to share with you promise to be both heartwarming and life changing.
